Send line item detail, pay a lower interchange rate.

Commercial and purchasing cards qualify for better interchange when the transaction carries tax, freight and line item data. The plugin builds that from the WooCommerce cart automatically, on every eligible order.

Included in Enterprise and above. Savings depend on your processor and card mix.

What you get

The data card networks ask for, assembled without anyone typing it.

Built from the cart

Item description, quantity, unit price, product code, tax amount and freight come straight from the order, so nothing is entered by hand.

Level II and Level III

Level II adds tax and a purchase order reference. Level III adds full line item detail, which is where the larger savings sit.

Only where it applies

Consumer cards are unaffected. The extra data is attached when the card qualifies, and skipped when it does not.

Tax handling that matches WooCommerce

Tax exempt orders, mixed rates and shipping tax are mapped to the fields the networks expect rather than approximated.

How it works

The plugin decides per transaction, in the same request as the sale.

  • Card type is identifiedThe BIN indicates whether the card is commercial, purchasing or consumer. Only the first two can qualify.
  • Line items are assembledEach cart line becomes a transaction line with the required fields, and totals are checked to match the order to the cent.
  • Sent with the authorizationNo second call, no batch upload. If the data is rejected the sale still completes and the reason is logged.

Worth knowing

The savings are real but they are not automatic across the board.

Ask support

Ask your processor first

Level III eligibility depends on your merchant account being configured for it and on your pricing model. On interchange plus pricing the saving flows to you directly. On flat rate pricing it may not reach you at all, so confirm before assuming a return.

How much can this actually save?
On qualifying commercial card volume the difference between standard and Level III interchange is typically around one percent. On consumer cards it is zero.
Does the buyer see anything different?
No. The extra data travels with the transaction and does not change the checkout at all.
What if a line item is missing a product code?
A fallback code is used so the transaction still qualifies. Setting real codes on your products gives cleaner reporting for your buyers.
Can I add a purchase order field at checkout?
Yes. A PO reference field can be shown to business buyers and passed through as Level II data.
